Pelvic Pain

Pain is Pervasive

Living with chronic pain affects every aspect of your life. When in Woman in Painpain,  your immune system is constantly “revved up” to suppress pain. This depletes your stress-coping hormones and can lead to fatigue, depression, and seemingly unrelated symptoms such as headaches and nausea, irritability and family discord.

Pain is Widespread

Twenty percent of women suffer chronic pelvic pain; Fifteen percent of all women have endometriosis. Of the women who suffer chronic pain, 85% have endometriosis and the remainder have other sources of pain such as pelvic adhesions (internal scar tissue), pelvic muscle spasm, pelvic congestion (varicose veins of the uterus), chronic infection, “memory” pain from previous sexual abuse, and other problems.

Overcome Your Pain

Working with women who suffer chronic pelvic pain is one of my most rewarding pursuits: I get to be a detective and sleuth down the source of your pain. Usually the source of pelvic pain is anatomic. This means it can be fixed. Even if the source is non-anatomic such as previous sexual abuse or anxiety about sex, these problems can be addressed with coaching in a loving environment, relaxation techniques, physical therapy, and biofeedback.
